Sympathy of the Profession is extended the family of Dr. George J. Polochick
Dr. George J. Polochick, 78, of E. Freetown, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at home following a battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth B. “Liz” (Marshall) Polochick with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, RI, the son of the late George and Mary (Huba) Polochick, he grew up in The Bronx, lived in CA, Iowa and MA, where he and Liz raised their three sons.
George proudly served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from St. John’s University in New York and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa.
George had a successful career as a Doctor of Chiropractic for nearly 50 years, owning and practicing at Polochick Chiropractic in New Bedford.
George enjoyed fishing, bird watching and walking in nature, especially at Betty’s Neck in Lakeville. He loved watching sunsets and seeing a rainbow. Dogs were his passion. He was a very spiritual man who cherished the eagle as it represented freedom. He loved spending time with his beloved family who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by three sons, Dr. Brian M. Polochick and his wife Jennifer, Justin M. Polochick and his wife Heather and Jonathan G. Polochick and his girlfriend Lauren Fournier; a sister, Annemarie Berdnik; five grandchildren, Dawson, Madeline, Connor, Lincoln and Brady; several nieces and nephews; and Lois Sargeant with whom he was in a relationship.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12-4 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Save the Whales, 14040 Reservation Road, Salinas, CA 93908, since George loved whales.
