Instructor: Daniel Richardson\, MSc\, PhD\, DAANC\nHour 4:   Dr David Seaman will address how chronic inflammation can complicate the management of cervical radiculopathy and other conditions. The localized inflammatory activity within the affected nerve root can be impacted by systemic inflammatory factors\, such as body fat mass\, glycemic\, hyperlipidemia\, smoking\, sedentary living\, sleep abnormalities\, and psychosocial issues. Both the peripheral and central nociceptive system can be impacted by these factors\, which can easily be identified and addressed in an uncomplicated fashion.  Instructor: David Seaman\, BS\, DC\, MS\nHour 5:   Dr. Sarah Spiegelhoff\, licensed mental health counselor\, will review the mind-body science of pain.  She will address the effects of stress and other mental health implications for pain\, as well as the powerful effects of negative belief systems.  She will also review how to provide wellness consultation with the patient\, including ways to develop a health-enhancing partnership that supports the patient in making informed decisions about well-being\, while also motivating holistic behavioral changes.  Instructor: Sarah F.
