Spiegelhoff\, Ph.D.\, LMHC\, NCC & James Demetrious\, DC\, FACO \nTuition: $150.00 (entire series payable upon registration) \nAdditional late registration fee of $25.00 effective as of 1/24/2018 \n\nRegistration Link\n  \nMORE DETAILED INFORMATION \n\nHour 1:  Dr.  James Demetrious will present the case history of a patient who reported abrupt onset\, unremitting\, cervical\, scapular and upper extremity symptoms.  He will provide information pertaining to initial intake history\, examination\, testing\, differential diagnosis\, rationales\, appropriateness criteria and treatment recommendations.   Instructor: James Demetrious\, DC\, FACO\nHour 2:  Dr. Chad Warshel will address appropriateness criteria for performing imaging on a patient with cervical radicular symptoms.  The imaging of cervical radiculopathy will be discussed\, as will a comprehensive differential diagnosis of other conditions which can present as radiculopathy.   Instructor: Chad Warshel\, DC\, DACBR\nHour 3:  Dr. Daniel Richardson will explain in detail the important aspects of the drugs which the patient is taking as well as common medications used in conditions of the Musculoskeletal Conditions since many if not most patients will at some point in their lives be prescribed drugs of this category or the patients self-medicate with these drugs.  The drugs will be categorized by those which are most often used in several conditions which are commonly seen and treated by Chiropractors.  Some of these drugs are over the counter and some prescription items.  The materials will cover the major use\, the major side effects and the mechanism of action of these drugs.  Also discussed will be some important Interactions and effects which might interfere with the treatment given by the Chiropractor such as Chiropractic Manipulation\, Botanical Medicine or Nutrition therapy. Instructor: Daniel Richardson\, MSc\, PhD\, DAANC\nHour 4:   Dr David Seaman will address how chronic inflammation can complicate the management of cervical radiculopathy and other conditions. The localized inflammatory activity within the affected nerve root can be impacted by systemic inflammatory factors\, such as body fat mass\, glycemic\, hyperlipidemia\, smoking\, sedentary living\, sleep abnormalities\, and psychosocial issues. Both the peripheral and central nociceptive system can be impacted by these factors\, which can easily be identified and addressed in an uncomplicated fashion.  Instructor: David Seaman\, BS\, DC\, MS\nHour 5:   Dr. Sarah Spiegelhoff\, licensed mental health counselor\, will review the mind-body science of pain.  She will address the effects of stress and other mental health implications for pain\, as well as the powerful effects of negative belief systems.  She will also review how to provide wellness consultation with the patient\, including ways to develop a health-enhancing partnership that supports the patient in making informed decisions about well-being\, while also motivating holistic behavioral changes.  Instructor: Sarah F. Instructor: Daniel Richardson\, MSc\, PhD\, DAANC\nHour 4:   Dr David Seaman will address how chronic inflammation can complicate the management of cervical radiculopathy and other conditions. The localized inflammatory activity within the affected nerve root can be impacted by systemic inflammatory factors\, such as body fat mass\, glycemic\, hyperlipidemia\, smoking\, sedentary living\, sleep abnormalities\, and psychosocial issues. Both the peripheral and central nociceptive system can be impacted by these factors\, which can easily be identified and addressed in an uncomplicated fashion.  Instructor: David Seaman\, BS\, DC\, MS\nHour 5:   Dr. Sarah Spiegelhoff\, licensed mental health counselor\, will review the mind-body science of pain.  She will address the effects of stress and other mental health implications for pain\, as well as the powerful effects of negative belief systems.  She will also review how to provide wellness consultation with the patient\, including ways to develop a health-enhancing partnership that supports the patient in making informed decisions about well-being\, while also motivating holistic behavioral changes.  Instructor: Sarah F. Spiegelhoff\, Ph.D.\, LMHC\, NCC\nHour 6:  Dr. James Demetrious will conclude the webinar lecture series and provide a summary of recommendations provided in previous lectures.
