COURSE DESCRIPTION – LIMITED SEATING

The ON-Point Dry Needling (OPDN) program is 20-hour program, (5 hrs. on line, 15 hrs. live lab) based primarily on the Myofascial Pain Syndrome model that prepares the practitioner to start needling on Monday morning. This program provides the practitioner the knowledge, skill and tools to bring the practice to a new level of patient care and pain management. ON-Point Dry Needling provides all the preliminary steps necessary to make certain the patient is a candidate for this procedure, and at the same time instills confidence for the clinician to makes the right needle selection with proper needle insertion into the selected muscle/fascia.

 

 

5 ONLINE Hrs.:
The online portion (5 Hr) will cover the didactic material basic to the dry needling procedure and must be completed before on or before the live onsite session.

3. The science of pain
a. Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS)

4. The Myofascial Trigger Point TrP
a. History, evolution of definitions and players

5. DRY NEEDLING
a. What it is and isn’t; The procedures,

6. SAFETY
a. Blood born Pathogen certification (www.probloodborne.com) <60 Mins)
b. Red, yellow green zones
c. Needle safety

7. 25 exam question (NUHS require 5 questions per hr) administered at live session.


15 Hr. Onsite Hrs:

1. Review the high points of didactic material

2. Anatomical sections of the Body

a. Individual & group muscle review

b. Pain patterns v. Structural Adaptations

3. Needling

a. Selection type and procedures.

b. Video support

4. SAFETY is ongoing

5. Evidence based is ongoing

Loose clothing is expected, if you STICK, you must get STICKED.
