LEGISLATIVE DAY ON BEACON HILL

On Thursday, April 29, 2010 doctors from across the state paid visits to their legislators at the State House, and dropped off informational materials on the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of chiropractic care. The offices of every Senator and Representative were visited - 200 in all - and the reception was extremely welcoming. It was also a learning experience for the many participants who had never had the opportunity to see their lawmakers at work. Some doctors will follow up by participating with their legislators in their local districts.

The MCS will be offering a variety of continuing education opportunities in the upcoming year. The first year of the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician program will begin in September and run through July 2011.

CONSENT AGREEMENT MONITORS NEEDED

The Massachusetts Board of Registration is seeking doctors to expand the pool of Consent Agreement Monitors.

MCS & F4CP JOIN FORCES

The MCS has been supporting the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) through a monthly contribution. On December 9, 2009, the Boston Globe published a special supplement on bones and joint pain, with a section on back pain, and the MCS had a presence in that supplement. Many thanks to the F4CP, and especially its Executive Director, Mr. Gary Cuneo, for providing the marketing materials and sharing the costs for the supplement. Advertising is extremely expensive and our PIE budget is limited by comparison. Thanks also to our Public Relations consultant, Annmarie Seldon, who brought the opportunity to us, and to PIE Vice President Dr. Scott Darragh and President Joe Kornfeld who worked with the MCS staff and F4CP to meet the publishing deadline.
