Dr. Nicole K. Andrade

Dr. Nicole K. Andrade was born and raised on the beautiful island of Gloucester, MA. A graduate of St. Mel Day School, O'Maley Middle School and Gloucester High School, Dr. Andrade went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Pre-Medical Sciences with a minor in Spanish language from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. She then received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and interned and practiced in New York City for two years.

As a sailor missing her family, community and beautiful land and sea, Dr. Andrade decided in 2000 to return to Cape Ann to give back to the community that had given so much to her. She opened Atlantic Chiropractic in the Captain Harvey Coffin Mackay House on 19 Pleasant Street in Gloucester in 2000 then incorporated into Atlantic Family Chiropractic, PC in 2003 when she expanded to the Cape Ann Marketplace in East Gloucester. With today's growing need for family wellness and prevention and community education, she is expanding down the street again on January 1, 2009 to found the new Cape Ann Healing Center, 85 Eastern Avenue in Gloucester. www.capeannhealingcenter.com

Dr. Nicole is a portal of entry physician which means you can consult her at any age regarding any health condition and you usually don't need a referral from your medical doctor to see her. She can refer you and your family out for blood and other testing. She will integrate care with your family's other physicians and practitioners if you choose to join her chiropractic family practice. She uses gentle spinal adjustments to remove interference from your nervous system which runs every cell, tissue and organ in your body. Massage and stretching, exercise prescription, plant based medicines and spiritual counselling may also be offered. It is her intention to help you and your family remove the physical, chemical and emotional barriers that challenge your innate ability to heal and unleash your most divine expression of spirit!

Dr. Nicole has lectured to and worked with a wide array of organizations including the NYPD, The Federal Bureau of Prisons, The NYC Public School System, Gloucester and Rockport School Systems, The IRONMAN(R) Triathlon, The NY Road Runners Club, The Alvin Ailey Dance Troupe, The Cape Ann YMCA, The International Federation of Body Builders, Bally Total Fitness, Fleet Bank, First National Bank of Ipswich, The NY Council on Aging, the Rose Baker Senior Center and The St. James Medical Mission; Dominican Republic. Most recently she writes and educates for the New England Seacoast Holistic Health Association (www.neshha.org).

Dr. Andrade specializes in sports performance, pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic, and disease prevention. She is certified in many proven effective techniques including the Webster Technique for pregnancy. Dr. Andrade is currently half way through an additional 180 hour certification for her C.A.C.C.P. (Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics), and participates in a practice based research network to prove the efficacy and safety of chiropractic care in pregnancy. She has also studied ethnobotanical medicine for three years with master indigenous healers both locally and of the Amazon regions of Peru and Ecuador, and integrates these and other teachings into her traditional chiropractic family practice.

Dr. Nicole is also exited to be a co-founder of the Treetop Yoga Studio (www.treetopyoga.com) at the Cape Ann Healing Center as the next step to helping make Gloucester a destination healing center for integrative medicine. Inspired to help her patients regain control over their family's health rights and decisions, she is returning to public health education after 8 years. She is currently building her list of 2009 speaking topics upon request. It includes topics like "Let's Make Babies! Safe Natural Methods for Fertility and Joyous Birthing" and "Informed Decision Making Before Vaccinating Your Children, and Why ou Should Care" and "The Magic of Life!" for children's health education and science classes. She is available again for speaking to your school or organization in the Spring of 2009.

We offer ample free parking but make an effort to become more sustainable by car pooling to our events and classes, or better yet, we are within walking distance of the Cape Ann Transportation Authority's Red and Red/Blue Lines. Many of the healers within the sanctuary accept credit cards and most insurances. Affordable plans are available for the uninsured.

Take a day of healing and have lunch, talk a scenic walk, take a class, and use our coming website to find conscious, local businesses and grassroots organizations to entertain and heal you. If you come from out of town to be healed by our land, thank you. Breathe freely of our air but please tread lightly on our earth.
